It wasn't till the second quarter that the first TD was scored by QB Aaron Rodgers throwing a 5 yard pass to WR Jordy Nelson to take the lead, 7-6. The 49ers quickly attacked though with HB Frank Gore running the ball into the end zone from 10 yards out to take the lead, 13-7. The Packers then scored 10 unanswered points include a rushing TD by FB John Kuhn to make the score 17-13, Packers. Kapernick was not done yet though. He continued to have a 1 minutie and 36 second drive down field; it was capped off with a 28 yard reception by TE Vernon Davis for the TD to regain the lead, 20-17. Rodgers then was able to slowly drive down field for a field goal by K Mason Crosby to tie it up. With 6:36 on the clock, Kapernick went full Brady. He was able to drive very slow down the field to set up a game winning FG by K Phil Dawson.
The Packers offense did very little in the game. Rodgers only threw for 177 yards and 1 TD to WR Jordy Nelson who finished the day with 7 catches and 62 yards. WR Randall Cobb only got 2 receptions in his second game back for 52 yards. HB Eddie Lacy did decently today with 21 carries for 81 yards to average about 4 yards per carry.
Kapernick a legs did shine through in the game. In the game, he had 98 yards on the ground as well as 227 yards in the air for 1 TD and an interception. WR Michael Crabtree was also a huge start in this game with 8 receptions for 125 yards. HB Frank Gore also played well with 66 yards rushing and a TD.
