The Super Bowl

The Super Bowl. A game that tells the world who reigns supreme in American Football. There isnt any other name it should go by. It shouldnt be called the Harbaugh Bowl or the Brother Bowl. This is just a Super Bowl. The most important game for any NFL player in their career, and its going down between the Baltimore Ravens and the San Francisco 49ers.

This has been a year of excitment for these 2 clubs. The 49ers this year were 11-4-1 this year claiming the #2 seed, but this was under the most unusual circumstances. The 49ers were not being led by their week 1 QB Alex Smith, but their backup QB Colin Kapernick. His 1st start was in week 10 against the St. Louis Rams in which they tied! Kapernick then went on in the regular season to blow the minds of football fans and end the regualr season with a record of 5-2-1. In those games, he got 1725 yards passing for 10 passing TDs and 3 interceptions, but Kapernick's passing is not what makes him great. Its his legs. After he started, he got 304 yards rushing and 2 TDs, but his legs were understood in the playoffs. Their 1st playoff game was against the Green Bay Packers and Aaron Rodgers. Colin Kapenick led the team to a 45-31 victory in a record breaking game. Kapernick had 263 yards passing and 2 TDs, but that wasnt the best park. Kapernick had 181 rushing yards and 2 rushing TDs to blow apart the Green Bay defense and most likely end WR Donald Driver's career due to Driver's age. The 49ers then headed to Atlanta to play the 14-3 Atlants Falcons in which TE Vernon Davis who had 5 receptions for 106 yards and a TD and HB Frank Gore who had 90 yards rushing and 2 rushing TDs to lead the 49ers to a 28-24 victory un a big time comeback which led the 49ers to now.

The Baltimore Ravens had a more difficult road of collapse. In week 6, team leader and MLB Ray Lewis got a possible season ending injury. When any group of people lose a leader, they will hurt. After the Ravens lost Lewis, they went on to have a 5-5 record without him but luckily the 5-1 start helped the Ravens sustain a good enough record to get them a 10-6 record and the #4 seed to go face QB Andrew Luck and the Indianapolis Colts. WR Anquan Boldin who had 5 receptions for 145 yards recieving and a TD which helped power the Ravens over the Colts 24-9. They then went to Denver to play against the Denver Broncos with future Hall of Famer QB Peyton Manning. They fell behind 35-31 coming down to the last few minuties, but Aflacco was able to throw an amazing pass to WR and kick and punt returner Jacoby Jones for a game winning TD to pull off a win 38-35. The AFC Championship from last year was repeated between the Ravens and the New England Patriots. There were 2 big diffrences though. Last year, WR Lee Evans dropped an easy TD pass which would have put the Ravens over top the Patriots in the 3rd quarter, but Evans has been in free agency all year this year. The Ravens also had K Billy Cundiff who missed a game tying field goal in the final seconds of the AFC Championship last year, but now Cundiff went to the Washington Redskins and failed misreably then was dropped then went to the 49ers for a week and was waivered again, and the Ravens drafted rookie K Justin Tucker who regined as an important part of the Ravens this year. The Ravens went on to outrun the Patriots, 28-13 which led them to now.

The QB matchup this week is between big arm QB Joe Flacco or Aflacco against Midseason Starter QB Colin Kapernick. This year, Aflacco has had 4670 yards passing, 30 TDs, and 10 interceptions. Aflacco has also had 36 yards rushing and 3 TD. Kapernick this year has had 2300 yards passing for 13 TDs and 4 interceptions. He is also a rushing king with 617 yards rushing and 7 rushing TDs. Im going to give this one to Aflacco since he has won a playoff game every year of his career and is way more experienced then Colin Kapenick,

The HB matchup this week is between HB Ray Rice and HB Frank Gore. Rice this year has had 1390 yards rushing and 11 TDs. Gore this year has had 1423 yards rushing and 10 TDs. These HBs are very similar, but Gore is a more powerful HB who will be able to plow down the defenders.

The WR matchup is between WR Anquan Boldin and WR Michael Crabtree. Boldin this year has had 81 receptions for 1197 yards recieving and 7 TDs. Crabtree this year has had 100 receptions for 1218 yards recieving for 11 TDs. Im giving this matchup to Crabtree since he has a high lead between the receptions and TDs.

In the end, I must go to the team i chose to win the Super Bowl before the season even started (refer to 2012 playoff prediction). I'm going with the Baltiomore Ravens. They have the QB, they have the HB, they have the WRs, and they have LB Ray Lewis at captain to power the team. This game is the Ravens!!! 24-23
