The Carolina Panthers are going to be in a tough spot against one of the top defenses in the league with the Arizona Cardinals. Arizona is going to hold the Panthers to a lot of field goals deep down field, and K Graham Gano will have to step up his game to keep the game competitive.

College Overtime Rules in the NFL?

Following the Green Bay Packers overtime loss to the Arizona Cardinals, the Packers were less then pleased. The defense gave up a 75 yard play to WR Larry Fitzgerald who then caught the winning touchdown pass two plays later. LB Clay Matthews complained about the overtime rules and recommended adjusting to college football overtime rules. Though college rules are somewhat ridiculous, an adjustment could be made to at least give the other team a shot at playing the game.

The current NFL rules are bad. Whoever wins the coin-flip gets the ball first, and the if they score its already over without the other offense getting a shot. At least in college, they play a shootout at different distances from the end zone so that everyone gets a shot to keep their team alive.

I recommend we do a classic shootout where they do a full kick off and whoever goes second must match whatever the first team does to stay alive and if they do better they win. Defensive touchdowns would automatically end the game. This would give everyone a shot and avoid disappointing endings for people like QB Aaron Rodgers who did not get a chance to save his team's season.

Which Teams Need a QB?

With Free Agency approaching in a couple months, teams eliminated from the playoffs must consider options on how to make playoffs next season. The biggest position for any team is quarterback. Some probable available players include Robert Griffin the 3rd, Sam Bradford, and Johnny Manziel, so who are the most needy teams?

1) Cleveland Browns (Current QB: Johnny Manziel): The Browns have a new head coach and have struggled for years to find a good quarterback. The Browns are most likely trading Johnny Manziel to some team, and the Browns will be pursuing a new quarterback possibly RG3 or a QB in the draft.

2) San Francisco 49ers (Current QB: Blaine Gabbert): The 49ers had a disappointing season which eventually led to the sitting of QB Colin Kaepernick in favor of Gabbert. With HC Chip Kelly now in control, they could give Kapernick another chance in Kelly's West Coast Offense, or they could pursue a free agent like Robert Griffin the 3rd or Johnny Manziel who are solid running QBs or even bring Bradford over from Philly. The draft has some reasonable prospects that ma enjoy Kelly's college offensive playing style, too.

3) Philadelphia Eagles (Current QB: Sam Bradford): Fired HC Chip Kelly wrecked the Eagles organization and getting rid of Bradford is the first step back to happiness. Robert Griffin the 3rd could be an intriguing option. The Eagles could also go to the draft under their new head coach, Doc Peterson. Peterson and a rookie QB could be the next HC Andy Reid-QB Donovan McNabb combo to give Philly some hope.

4) Houston Texans (Current QB: Brian Hoyer): The Texans won their division this season without HB Arian Foster for a lot of the season, but the issue is that they will never win a Super Bowl with Hoyer. A possible trade-up for a QB in the draft could be helpful.

5) Los Angeles Rams (Current QB: Case Keenum): The Rams looked goo coming into the season with QB Nick Foles at the helm, but he quickly collapsed bringing in Keenum who made little difference. They could benefit from an ironic RG3 move who they basically traded to Washington for a ton of draft picks.

LB Vontaze Burfict Suspension?

LB Vontaze Burfict is very likely to gain a suspension, but it sadly will not be as much as he deserves. He has already been fined for a hit on QB Ben Roetheinsburger early this season. The second crime he has now committed will lead to a one game suspension. The suspension should be indefinite because he seriously injured a person which could be seen as an actual crime. He will get off easy this time, but it comes to say that cheap shots like this should be evaluated in the NFL further and change suspension rules.

3-Mile Island in Cincinnati

The Cincinnati Bengals fell short against the Pittsburgh Steelers 18-16 on a game that ended in travesty. LB Vontaze Burfict took a cheap-shot on WR Antonio Brown late into the game leading to a concussion and a 15-yard penalty. Afterwards, CB Adam Jones received a 15-yard penalty for touching a referee putting the Steelers in a position to kick a short field goal to win the game.

Who is the blame for the meltdown? HC Marvin Lewis? The referees? The real answer is the players themselves.

Many people are blaming Lewis for not keeping his players together, but he has 55-players to keep track off. He cannot hold down that many ben. Burfict was a monster the entire time. He gained rage and beat up on QB Ben Roethleinsburger, WR Antonio Brown, and most of the referees. CB Adam Jones lost his chill at the end to really end the game though.

Marvin Lewis should not be fired like some are saying. He is a good head coach with problem players who will get their punishment, but the real sad thing is: the NFL has been shamed by these players.

Bold Prediction Wild Card Round

QBs Alex Smith and Brian Hoyer Combine for Over 800 Passing Yards

The Kansas City Chiefs and Houston Texans are the top two defenses in the league. This week, they will be crushed by whopping passing games from both QBs when HBs Charcandrick West, Spencer Ware, Alfred Blue, and Chris Polk cannot come up with any yards. The game may still be turnover ridden and low scoring, but the QBs will be in a passing battle most of the day.

Top 3 Super Bowl Match-ups

The NFL playoffs start today! What Super Bowl match-ups would get the most hype

3) Green Bay Packers v Kansas City Chiefs: Super bowl 1. I know it is not a huge match-up today, but the awesomeness of a the Super Bowl game 50 games later just is wow.

2) Arizona Cardinals v Pittsburgh Steelers: The 2009 Super Bowl. The game was the first Super Bowl I ever seriously remember, and it was a doozy. QB legends facing off between QB Kurt Warner in his last game and QB Ben Roethleinsburger. LB James Harrison's epic 100 yard pick-6 to end the half and put Pittsburgh ahead. The epic winning drive by Pittsburgh to score the game-winning TD catch by WR Santonio Holmes with :34 seconds in the 4th quarter. The catch was arguably a better catch then WR Odell Beckham Jr.'s catch. A match-up between QB Carson Palmer and Roethleinsburger would definitely be a match to remember.

1) New England Patriots v Seattle Seahawks: The CB Malcom Butler interception at the goal line when Seattle should've handed off the ball to HB Marshwan Lynch. Who doesn't wanna see HC Pete Carrol get another shot to fix his mistakes in that game? Seattle really deserved that game if it wasn't for a stupid coaching call. QB Russell Wilson deserves another chance with this possible dynasty team that could possibly surpass the San Francisco 49ers in the 1980s.

Daily Fantasy Line-Up: Wild Card Round

The following is based on the $200 budget given by Yahoo!:

QB Teddy Bridgewater $24 - He is the cheapest QB available that is starting and is a no brainer when you see the rest of the line-up.

HB Charcandrick West $20 - Good value for a HB who has been putting up solid numbers after replacing HB Jamaal Charles and getting pretty good fantasy points. Though he may share some time with HB Spencer Ware, he is definitely the main back.

HB Fitzgerald Toussaint $13 - The cheapest player for a solid team. When HB Le'Veon Bell went down, HB DeAngelo Williams came in and did a terrific job. The reason was not because Williams was a great runner but because the Steelers have a good offensive line and a QB-WR combo in Ben Roethleinsburger-Antonio Brown to open some holes for any runner to break through. Toussaint may be the number one running back this week.

WR Antonio Brown $37 - I am betting on both sides of the Steelers offense. Brown is basically a must start every week in DFS.

WR Randall Cobb $22 - He has under-performed this season for a Green Bay offense that has struggle, but they are playing a very weak defense this week in the Washington Redskins. Expect big numbers from this man.

WR Desean Jackson $21 - Jackson has had a good season taking deep and short balls from QB Kirk Cousins and this week will be no exception.

TE Jordan Reed $25 - The guy is the best tight end in the league right now. Screw TE Rob Gronkowski. Reed is the man. Two pass-catchers from Washington is appealing in a high scoring matchup between Green Bay and Washington.

Flex TE Tyler Eifert $22 - People need to put pass-catchers in the flex with a .5 PPR league, and the wide receivers to choose from this week that are not extremely over-priced are very low. Eifert has been effective all year, and I am confident QB AJ McCarron will be able to find Eifert in the end zone this weekend.

DEF Kansas City Chiefs $16 - The Houston Texans are by far the worst offense in the playoffs. Kansas City is going to basically eliminate the run game in Houston's giant committee, so QB Brian Hoyer will have to throw a lot which will probably lead to a couple interceptions and maybe even a pick-6.

Tampa Bay Up For Grabs

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have fired HC Lovie Smith. They can now be added to the list of possible head coaching jobs, and they are now the best head coaching job.

The Buccaneers have got a young staff similar to the youth of the Seattle Seahawks. They have QB Jameis Winston who had a pretty decent season in a weirdly competitive NFC South. HB Doug Martin AKA Muscle Hamster came back with a surprisingly strong season even with sharing some time with HB Charles Sims. WRs Mike Evans and Vincent Jackson along with TE Austin Seferian-Jenkins are incredible receivers. The defense has some decent ability and could become something great. Carolina may be tough, but Tampa Bay can definitely get a wild card spot, if they can get the right head coach.

Best Head Coach Jobs

The head coaching vacancies have been decided, but it is time to see which spot is the most desirable.

6) Cleveland Browns: They have been falling apart forever. Coach after coach, no one seems to succeed at saving this team. QB Johnny Manziel is out the door most likely, and they just have not been able to put together the pieces. Every coach has been on a tight string with the Cleveland owner, so it is not a very desirable job unless you are willing to put your career on the line.

5) Miami Dolphins: They have a ton of good players. QB Ryan Tannehill has a great future ahead, WR Jarvis Landry is already a top ten receiver, and DT Ndamokung Suh is a star on defense. The issue is: all the good pieces do not have the same playing styles at all leading to no success. The next coach here will have to prove himself cause not only does the team miss chemistry, but they also must deal with the AFC East, and some pretty tough players.

4) New York Giants: They were close this year but not good enough for playoffs. The next head coach here has to follow in the shadow of HC Tom Coughlin which will be an almost impossible task. QB Eli Manning will never feel the same about another head coach made obvious by all his crying. The team also is pretty weak besides their passing game. The Giants have already peaked but are not quite at rebuilding. This is not the best time to be head coach unless you are sure you can blow it out of the water.

3) San Francisco 49ers: They had it all together. Then the team got mad at Harbaugh, Seattle and Arizona stepped up their game, and now they are at the bottom of the pack. QB Blaine Gabbert and QB Colin Kaepernick are not the answers. They need a new QB along with a new set of WRs and also a whole new defense after the early retirements of LB Patrick Willis and LB Chris Boland. The team just fell apart at the seams, and they need a new head coach to at least build some unity between the players.

2) Tennessee Titans: Mariota. Dorial-Beckham. Enough said. The team has the ground work for greatness. The division is weak, too. The Houston Texans made the playoffs at 9-7. Tennessee is set-up for success under the right coach.

1) Philadelphia Eagles: HC Chip Kelly's plan did not work. He changed the entire roster to fit his needs meaning Philadelphia needs a total rebuild with a new head coach. New players, new coach. Who doesn't wanna be the head coach where they have complete control and cannot be blamed during a rebuild period (though all the Eagles fans will).

Wheel of Los Angeles

With the NFL season coming to a close for 20 teams Sunday, the NFL has begun taking paper work for relocation to Los Angeles. The three teams filing for relocation are: the Oakland Raiders, the San Diego Chargers, and the St. Louis Rams. The NFL owners must have 24 out of 32 agree on this decision of which team moves but who will it be?

The Oakland Raiders have played in Oakland for only 20 years. They spent 12 years in Los Angeles from 1982-1994. During their time in Oakland, they have yet to win a Super Bowl but are moving in the right direction with QB Dereck Carr and DE Kahlil Mack. Oakland is still a losing team in a tough division and maybe a change in scenery will lift their spirits after so many years of sucking.

The San Diego Chargers have played in San Diego for 54 years. They spent only their first year in the AFL in Los Angeles in 1960 and have played in San Diego ever since. They have never won a Super Bowl, and they are falling apart as QB Phillip Rivers cannot put together a winning season even with helping from supporting cast WR Kennan Allen and HB Melvin Gordon, but it is not his fault entirely. The defense has never been able to stop their rivals offenses. Peyton Manning, Alex Smith, and Dereck Carr all get their way with the Chargers. The Chargers may need a change of scenery along with some plastic surgery of the rosters to be able to even consider competing again.

The St. Louis Rams have played in St. Louis for 20 years. They spent 48 years in Los Angeles from 1946-1994. During their time with St. Louis, they won a Super Bowl in 1999. That was awhile ago, but they at least have some good history behind them unlike the other two. St. Louis has a good team set up. They have a new HB in Todd Gurley, a all-around WR in Tavon Austin, and a defense that ranks quite high. They need a QB still because trading for Nick Foles did not pan out (not like QB Sam Bradford would do much better), and QB Case Keenum is not the answer. They could use a change of scenery and a new QB to be a fierce competitor.

The best option though, is probably the Chargers. Oakland is putting together a decent team and actually may have a decent shot next season as making playoffs with Denver becoming indecisive with their QB and Kansas City relying heavily on their defense to get the job done. St. Louis has a great team coming up. Their bad season was a surprise considering the decent team they have set-up. Hopefully, they get a QB next year, and they can compete in their tough division with Seattle and Arizona. The Chargers needs a change. They have been in San Diego for over fifty years and have failed. They need to rebuild this team from the ground up with a new face in a new location.

The Carousel of Coaches

With the 2015 regular season coming to a close, twenty of the thirty-two NFL teams will be done with their season; many of these teams had very disappointing outcomes such as the Philadelphia Eagles who fired their head coach, Chip Kelly. Teams like Philly will be looking for a new coach for 2016 and there are plenty to choose from, but who is the best?

First lets look at the POSSIBLE teams who need a head coach:
Philadelphia Eagles:6-9
New Orleans Saints: 6-9
San Diego Chargers: 4-11
Detroit Lions: 6-9
Cleveland Browns: 3-12
Tennessee Titans: 3-12
Indianapolis Colts: 7-8
Miami Dolphins: 5-10
San Francisco 49ers: 4-11
New York Giants: 6-9

I have taken the liberty to find the best head coach for each team and here are my results:

Philadelphia Eagles: Mike Shula, Panthers Offensive Coordinator

The Eagles offense has struggled this year. It could possibly be a personnel issue with Chip Kelly bringing in players from all corners of the earth to doom the team, but the next general manager needs to be somebody who can rebuild the offense, and Shula is the man. He raised the new arguably number one quarterback, Cam Newton. Sam Bradford's contract is up after this game Sunday, and I doubt he is coming back after his subpar performance. The Eagles will be looking to the draft for their next QB to build around and Shula will form that man to at least a Kirk Cousins-like quarterback.

New Orleans Saints: Doug Marrone, Jaguars Assistant Head Coach

Marrone is not pretty. He spent two years being head coach for the Buffalo Bills where he went 15-17. He spent a year in Jacksonville with a team that is 5-10 this season, but the Jaguars actually looked significantly better with Blake Bortles leading the helm and support from receivers like Allen Robinson, Allen Hurns, and Julius Thomas. Marrone is looking for his next opportunity, and the Saints are lost. Sean Payton just cannot get the job done anymore, so he is leaving. Marrone is a man who can be rallied around. Though his record may look bad, he was in a division with elites like Bill Belichek  and Rex Ryan. The NFC South looks like it may be claimed by Carolina for many years, but the Saints could easily be contenders again with the roller coaster that is the Atlanta Falcons and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers who are trying to find footing with Jameis Winston now under the helm.
San Diego Chargers: Sean McDermott, Panthers Defensive Coordinator

The Chargers are a decent team, but their record does not show it. The reason is their defense has faltered against their division, and the stiff offenses they have to deal with. McDermott has made a very successful defense in Carolina, and I am sure he can do it again in San Diego for a team that does not necessarily need a offensive push. The team has become the worst in the AFC West, and they are going to need a few years to even think about playoffs again.

Detroit Lions: Chuck Pagano, Colts Head Coach

I know: Pagano has not been officially released, but it is over guys. Chuck strong is out to be taken, and the Lions are a good bet. Stafford and Luck present similar play ability, and the Lions have a stronger defense that puts them in a good position. The coaching this season has definitely been Detriot's downfall, but Pagano can bring in a system to really upgrade Detroit to a competitive level with an already feisty division with Green Bay and Minnesota. Pagano did not get enough credit for pulling off such a decent record with Matt Hassleback at the helm. The weapons were just not there. Detroit will present a more fair opportunity.
Cleveland Browns: Adam Gase, Bears Offensive Coordinator

The Browns are lost... still. They have been unable to find answers for longer then I have probably been alive. Johnny Manziel is basically out the door after his repeated issues on and off the field leading to Cleveland looking for a quarterback yet again. This time, it may work out. Gase has taught some of the best quarterbacks in Jay Cutler and Peyton Manning, and he is ready for his next protégé. Cleveland has an okay defense, but the pieces will never come together without a solid offensive leader. Gase makes offensive leaders.
Tennessee Titans: Chip Kelly, Eagles Head Coach

Kelly destroyed the Eagles. That was GM Chip Kelly. HC Chip Kelly is still the man though. All he needs is a running QB, a decent running back, and a offensive line. Tennessee has one of those three, but they also have a top draft pick to possibly get a running back or lineman to send them in the right direction. The AFC South was lackluster this season, so they could see playoffs as early as next season if they play their cards right this offseason. An Oregon reunion is a big step in the right direction.
Indianapolis Colts: Darrell Bevell, Seahawks Offensive Coordinator

Bevell is another man who can raise a quarterback. He raised Brett Farve and Russell Wilson. He even made a decent quarterback out of Tavaris Jackson when he played. Indianapolis needs a man to help Andrew Luck out after coming back from his injury and make him an even better quarterback. Bevell can definitely get the job done in this horrible AFC South.

Miami Dolphins: Hue Jackson, Bengals Offensive Coordinator

Jackson had a decent performance as a head coach going 8-8 in his one season. He was fired, but he went on to help make the somehow explosive offense out of Cincinnati. Andy Dalton was an impressive molding. He had no specialties, and he mainly just targeted AJ Green in the beginning. Now he is a midlevel quarterback who got the team enough wins to make it to the playoffs without him. AJ McCarron is the more impressive feat. An even younger quarterback in Cincinnati who comes off the bench and plays his first few NFL games and is close to the caliber of Dalton. He looks like a legitimate threat to possibly put up a fight in the playoffs. He also has some practice on defense as he was the Bengals assistant head coach for four years. Jackson is one of the top head coaches out there and a perfect fit in Miami. Tannehill now has his big time contract, but he is still under-performing even with so much talent, so Jackson can come in and spiff him up and make him possibly another Kirk Cousins-like player like Shula can. Miami's defense also is not terrible which works well for Jackson who can help on both sides of the ball and possibly make Miami as good as Cincinnati defensively if he puts in the right magic. Jackson may be entering one of the toughest divisions in the NFL especially with Tom Brady still around, but he could give Miami an opportunity to at least give New England a scare.
San Francisco 49ers: Jim Mora, UCLA Head Coach

Mora is a decent coach. As a head coach for a solid Atlanta Falcons team and a weak Seattle Seahawks he was able to go 31-33. He has helped build UCLA back up a tiny bit to get them into the Foster Farms Bowl. They may not be as good as he wants them to be, but he could leave now, and it could be called a successful rebuild. Yah, Mike Holmgren is saying he would come out of retirement and coach the 49ers, but he has been out-of-service for far too long. Mora is already in California so the transition would probably be painless. I do not know how I feel about college head coaches, but they sure are intriguing to watch and see if they can implement their style similar to how college players try to adjust to the NFL.

New York Giants: Josh McDaniel, Patriots Offensive Coordinator

McDaniel was an unsuccessful coach for Denver. He went 11-17 over two seasons with them, but he then went to New England and solidified his offensive skill, especially this season. He has implemented an offense over the years that has faced a running back carousel, and he has still kept them going strong this year even with the losses of Dion Sims and LeGarrette Blount. The Giants have an okay defense and offense, but McDaniel could join another star quarterback in Eli Manning, and he could put together a run game to benefit everyone. he can give Manning better opportunities, give Odell Beckham Jr. more catches, give a spark to Rashard Jennings, Shane Vereen, and whoever they find on free agency, and keep the defense off the field for longer. The NFC East is a pretty open division and it has been for years. Someone has to solidify it, and McDaniel is New York's best bet.

Bold Prediction Week 17

Tampa Bay Beats Carolina

That's right, folks. Carolina is going to go 14-2 and only go 4-2 in their division. Cam Newton is flustered still after that shocking loss to Atlanta. Johnathan Stewart is still feeling the burn from his injury. Ron Rivera is looking to give young man, Curtis Artis-Payne,  more playing time. Mike Evans is feeling a bit inspired after watching Julio Jones light up Josh Norman and that powerful Carolina secondary. Get ready cause Tampa Bay is going to prove that they were a worthy playoff team.

2016 New Years Resolution (Week 17 Games and Playoff Seed Predictions)

I am not a fan of New Years' resolutions, but I am going to make an exception. As a student, I am very busy. I have difficult classes, and I have a fair amount of socialization.
