Atlanta Falcons outlast Seattle

The Atlanta Falcons tripped through a tough game but survived beating the Seattle Seahawks, 30-28. The Falcons were up 20-0 at the end of the 1st half, but the Seahawks rallied to comeback to take the lead 28-27 with 34 seconds left. Sadly, the defense failed QB Russel Wilson and let the Falcons into field goal range where K Matt Bryant was set to attempt the winning field goal. HC Pete Carroll was said to have called a timeout to try to ice Bryant in which Bryant missed the practice, but by the looks of Carroll's mouthing he never called timeout but the referees called a Seattle timeout! Bryant went on to kick a field goal on the 2nd attempt leading to QB Matt Ryan and RE Tony Gonzalez's 1st playoff win!

A big effect in this game was the Falcons offense. Matt Ryan got 250 yards passing for 3 TDs. WR Roddy White had 5 receptions for 76 yards and a TD. TE Tony Gonzalez had 6 receptions for 51 yards and a TD. HB Jason Snelling also had a TD as well as a reception for 5 yards. HB Michael Turner also had a decent day with 99 yards rushing. WR Julio Jones also had an interesting game with 6 receptions for 59 yards and an interception to end the game.

The Seahawks offense also played really strong today. QB Russel Wilson had a terrific day with 385 yards passing and 2 TDs. He also had a good running day get 60 rushing yards and a TD. HB Marshwan Lynch had a decent day with 46 yards rushing and a TD. TE Zach Miller blew up the board today with 9 receptions for 146 yards and a TD. WR Golden Tate also had a great day with 6 receptions for 103 yards and a TD.

My MVP for this game is Matt Ryan who had a terrific game with 3 TDs leading him to his 1st playoff win.
